About
Samantha Hernandez, M.A, LPCC
Welcome! I am a licensed counselor serving women (18-55) in New Mexico with online teletherapy. I specialize in Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, and Women’s Issues. My therapy approach can be described as solution focused and strength-based. I am laid-back, big on empathy and compassion, and I offer gentle but direct guidance and feedback. It is my priority to create a space that promotes growth and positive changes for you.
My Approach
As a Latina, counseling was never a part of my upbringing. I went through so much alone and now my passion is to be there for women like me that just needed help and just needed someone to listen.
I take from my Latinx culture (herbs, supplements, nature, allies in community) and combine it with comprehensive therapy approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy, psychodynamic therapy, trauma-informed therapy, motivational interviewing, and somatic therapy. I also focus my training on nutrition, sleep, and bodywork. Our treatment plan and approach will always be tailored to you.
We address the mind, body, and soul as part of holistic wellness. Everything is interconnected; a change in one area can help you overall.
More About Me (Sam):
I have lived in southern NM all my life, from Las Cruces, NM to Sunland Park, NM and right on the edge of TX. I am 31yo, have been married 11 years, and I’m childless by choice. I have 2 furbabies. Nature heals me and I often escape to the forests, lakes, and rivers when I can. I have been in practice for nearly 6 years and went into private practice this past year. My own challenges that you may relate to: infertility, Endometriosis, PCOS, hormonal imbalance, trauma, and a cancer scare.
